For the Young and Young-at-heart

The Julian Family Fiddle Camp is honored to be associated with a number of organizations that support its mission and activities.  Indeed, gracious individual donors and the wonderful generosity of the California State Old Time Fiddlers Association, enable the Julian Family Fiddle Camp to accept applications for partial scholarships.  These scholarships are meant to offset some of costs for youth and/or seniors who need assistance in order to attend the camp.   For more information about supporting the Camp through tax-deductible donations, please see our Donation/Support  page.

To receive a partial scholarship, an applicant must be:

    • Under 18 years of age or over the age of 55
    • Registered to participate in the camp

The scholarship application itself is very simple, and entails the submission of a short letter that:

    • States the scholarship applicant's need, desire and musical aspirations.
    • If the applicant is under 18 years of age, his/her application must include a separate note from either a music teacher, friend or musical mentor who confirms the applicant's interest and ability.

Meeting the above criteria is requisite for consideration, but does not guarantee the award of a partial scholarship.  Amounts and the number of awards will be determined by available funds, the number of applicants, and the strength of one's request.  While not required, it is helpful if an applicant or his/her family is a member of an organization that supports and promotes the playing of traditional acoustic music.

It is recommended that letters in application for partial scholarships be submitted early, and best if done at the same time one submits the initial deposit and signed registration material.  The address for submitting all material is:
